Privacy Policy

1. General Information

This Privacy Policy applies to the website operating at: eclipses.eu.

The website operator and the controller of personal data is:

Tomasz Czarnecki
Cisowa 18
42-677 Szałsza
Poland

Contact email address: eclipses.eu@gmail.com

The Operator is the Controller of your personal data with regard to data voluntarily provided through the Website.

Your personal data may be processed for the following purposes:

  • operating a newsletter,
  • operating an online forum,
  • operating a comment system,
  • handling enquiries submitted via forms,
  • providing requested services,
  • presenting offers or information.

The Website collects information about users and their behaviour in the following ways:

  • through data voluntarily entered into forms, which is then stored in the Operator’s systems,
  • through the use of cookies stored on users’ devices.

2. Selected Data Protection Measures Used by the Operator

Areas of the Website where users log in or enter personal data are protected at the transmission level by an SSL certificate. This means that personal data and login information entered on the Website are encrypted on the user’s device and can only be read by the destination server.

Personal data stored in the database is encrypted in such a way that it can only be read by the Operator holding the decryption key. This helps protect the data in the event of unauthorized access to the server database.

User passwords are stored in hashed form. Hashing is a one-way process, which means the original password cannot be recovered. This is the current industry standard for secure password storage.

The Operator changes administrative passwords periodically.

To minimize the risk of unauthorized access, the Operator uses strong passwords containing uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, with a minimum length of 8 characters.

An important part of data protection is the regular updating of all software used by the Operator to process personal data, including in particular the regular updating of software components.

To protect data against loss, the Operator also performs regular backups.

3. Hosting

The Website is hosted and technically maintained on the servers of: ovh.pl

To ensure technical reliability, the hosting provider maintains server logs. The following data may be recorded:

  • resources identified by URL, including requested pages and files,
  • the time a request was received,
  • the time a response was sent,
  • the name of the client device as identified via the HTTP protocol,
  • information about errors occurring during HTTP transactions,
  • the URL of the page previously visited by the user, if the Website was accessed via a link,
  • information about the user’s browser,
  • information about the user’s IP address,
  • diagnostic information related to the process of ordering services through forms available on the Website,
  • information relating to email correspondence sent to or from the Operator.

4. Your Rights and Additional Information on the Use of Data

In certain situations, the Controller may transfer your personal data to other recipients where necessary to perform a contract concluded with you or to fulfil legal obligations imposed on the Controller. This may include the following categories of recipients:

  • hosting providers acting under a data processing agreement,
  • providers of online chat solutions.

Your personal data will not be processed for longer than necessary to carry out the purposes for which it was collected, as required by applicable laws. In the case of marketing data, such data will not be processed for longer than 3 years.

You have the right to request:

  • access to your personal data,
  • rectification of your personal data,
  • erasure of your personal data,
  • restriction of processing,
  • data portability.

You also have the right to object to the processing of personal data where processing is based on the legitimate interests pursued by the Controller, including profiling. However, this right may not apply where there are compelling legitimate grounds for processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, in particular for the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office:

Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych
ul. Stawki 2
00-193 Warszawa
Poland

Providing personal data is voluntary, but may be necessary in order to use certain functions of the Website.

Your data may be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling, for the purpose of providing services under a contract concluded with you and for the purpose of direct marketing by the Controller.

Personal data may be transferred to third countries within the meaning of data protection legislation. This means that such data may be transferred outside the European Union.

5. Information Provided in Forms

The Website collects information voluntarily provided by users, including personal data where such data is entered.

The Website may also record connection parameters, including time stamps and IP addresses.

In certain cases, the Website may store information that facilitates linking the data entered in a form with the email address of the user completing that form. In such cases, the user’s email address may appear in the URL of the page containing the form.

Data provided through forms is processed for the purpose resulting from the function of the specific form, for example:

  • handling service requests,
  • responding to business enquiries,
  • registering services,
  • other related communication purposes.

Each form clearly indicates its purpose and the context in which the data is collected.

6. Administrator Logs

Information concerning users’ activity on the Website may be logged. This data is used for the purpose of administering the Website.

7. Important Marketing Techniques

The Operator uses statistical analysis of Website traffic through Google Analytics provided by Google Inc., based in the United States.

The Operator does not provide Google with personally identifiable data, but only anonymized information. This service relies on the use of cookies stored on the user’s device.

With regard to information about user preferences collected by Google’s advertising network, users can view and edit information resulting from cookies using the following tool:
https://www.google.com/ads/preferences/

The Operator also uses remarketing techniques, which make it possible to tailor advertising messages to the user’s behaviour on the Website. This may create the impression that personal data is being used to track the user, but in practice no personal data is transferred by the Operator to advertising partners. The technical prerequisite for such activities is that cookies are enabled.

The Operator may also use tools that automate certain Website functions in relation to users, for example sending an email after a user visits a specific subpage, provided that the user has consented to receiving commercial communications from the Operator.

8. Information About Cookies

The Website uses cookies.

Cookies are small text files stored on the user’s device and used to enable proper operation of the Website. Cookies usually contain the name of the website from which they originate, the duration of their storage on the user’s device, and a unique identifier.

The entity placing cookies on the user’s device and accessing them is the Website Operator.

Cookies are used for the following purposes:

The Website uses two basic types of cookies:

  • session cookies, which are temporary files stored on the user’s device until the user logs out, leaves the website, or closes the browser,
  • persistent cookies, which remain stored on the user’s device for the time specified in the cookie parameters or until deleted by the user.

Most web browsers allow cookies to be stored on the user’s device by default. Users may change their browser settings at any time. Browsers also allow cookies to be deleted or automatically blocked. Detailed information can be found in the browser’s help section or documentation.

Please note that restricting the use of cookies may affect certain functionalities available on the Website.

Cookies placed on the user’s device may also be used by entities cooperating with the Website Operator, including in particular:
